If we look at objects in nature as they are, anyone call feel their poetry or sing about their imaginings. So while objects are what they are, at the same time, they have an interior visual meaning that is both beautiful and ugly.
Even though my work and choice of medium – drawing, poetry, etc. – have changed, what has not changed is my attitude towards my existence. My position as ¡°I¡± the artist. The different materials and methods that I used express my wandering existence and identity within the mass of human existence. It was an attempt to find the color that I had lost, and to embrace the self that I had lost.
¡°Sensorial landscapes¡± is a series of the tactility of the weather, the color of landscapes, the sound of objects, and the shapes of sound that we all see and share. Even though these works may seem unfamiliar, they are rooted in a deeply personal memory, the yellow tree of my childhood that has now been cut down.
My works are constantly in process and contain the vestiges of sounds and past actions. While some of the works exhibited are incomplete, my wish is that they can still become a moment of beauty – the invisible landscape of sound, color, and shape. It may be awkward to say, but that is my hope.
In that moment, a pink rabbit, startled by the sound of a western wind, passes by. My heart pitter-patters. -translated Alex Jung
