소개ㅣ사람은 태어나는 순간부터 하나의 긴 모험을 시작한다. 일상 속에서 경험하는 기억과 감정들은 때로는 여행처럼, 때로는 낯선 세계처럼 다가와 우리 안에 깊은 흔적을 남긴다. 최지윤 작가의 작업은 이러한 흔적들을 환상적인 장면으로 재해석하여, 호기심과 상상력을 자극하며 작품 속 세계를 탐험하도록 이끈다.
이번 전시 '붉은 실타래'에는 왕관을 쓴 아이가 반복적으로 등장한다. 작가에게 왕관은 자아의 상징이며, 이는 작품 전반에 흐르는 중요한 주제인 ‘내면의 아이’와 맞닿아 있다. 누구나 마음속에 어린아이를 품고 살아가지만, 성장 과정에서 그 존재는 점차 잊혀지곤 한다. 작가는 엉켜 있는 실타래를 풀어가듯 내면의 아이와 다시 연결되는 여정을 그리고, 그 과정을 통해 관람자가 자신의 내적 세계를 성찰할 수 있도록 초대한다. 작품 속 붉은 실타래, 새, 새장 등 상징적 요소들은 그 탐색과 해방의 과정을 서사적으로 풀어낸다.
'붉은 실타래'는 단순한 회상에 머물지 않는다. 그것은 치유와 해방의 여정이며, 일상을 어린아이의 눈으로 바라보게 하는 상징적 여행이다. 관람자 스스로 억눌린 감정과 상처를 치유하며, 순수한 시선으로 일상을 재발견할 수 있도록 유도하는 장치로 기능한다. 잠시 내면의 목소리에 귀를 기울이고, 자신만의 실타래를 따라가는 소중한 시간이 되기를 바란다.

작가노트
나는 어린 시절의 기억, 삶 속에서 겪는 다양한 경험과 감정에서 영감을 얻어 그것들을 환상적인 장면으로 재해석하였다. 그렇게 탄생한 작품은 낯설고 신비로운 장소와 캐릭터들을 다채로운 색과 패턴 속에 펼쳐낸다. 이 캐릭터들은 무언가에 얽매이지 않고 자유롭게 세계를 탐험하며, 보는 이로 하여금 새로운 시선과 상상력을 자극한다.
이번 전시의 그림들은 왕관, 새, 붉은 실타래 등의 상징적 요소를 통해, 내면의 아이가 무언가를 찾아 헤매다 마침내 그것으로부터 자유로워지는 과정을 이야기처럼 담아냈다. 내 작업에서 ‘왕관’은 자아를 상징하며, 내면의 아이와 자아는 내 작업의 가장 중요한 주제이기도 하다. 나아가 어린아이의 순수한 시선으로 돌아가 상처를 치유하고, 일상을 여행하듯 누릴 수 있기를 바라는 마음을 작품 속에 녹였다.
우리는 모두 마음속에 어린아이를 품고 살아가지만, 성장하며 그 존재를 잊거나 대화를 멈추곤 한다. 나는 내면의 아이를 다시 마주하는 과정을, 엉킨 실타래를 따라가며 차츰 풀어내는 여정에 비유했다.

Curatorial Statement
From the moment of birth, life unfolds as a long journey. The memories and emotions we encounter in daily life leave lasting impressions, shaping our inner world. Artist Jiyun Choi reinterprets these traces into imaginative scenes that invite viewers to explore her work with curiosity and reflection.
'The Red Skein' features the recurring image of a child wearing a crown—a symbol of the self and a key motif connected to the theme of the 'inner child.' Through symbolic elements such as the red skein, birds, and cages, the artist portrays the process of reconnecting with this forgotten inner presence and the journey toward liberation.
More than a recollection, 'The Red Skein' represents healing and renewal. The exhibition encourages viewers to face suppressed emotions, rediscover a sense of innocence, and reflect on their own inner journeys.
Artist Statement
Inspired by childhood memories and everyday emotions, I reimagine them into fantastical scenes filled with vibrant colors and patterns. My works present mysterious places and characters that roam freely, inviting viewers to discover new perspectives and imagination.
This exhibition features symbolic elements such as crowns, birds, and red threads, reflecting a journey of the inner child-searching, confronting, and ultimately finding freedom. The crown represents the self, while the dialogue between the self and the inner child remains a central theme. Through these works, I seek to evoke the innocence of a child’s gaze, offering healing and a sense of everyday life as a journey.
